Blogger vs. Tumblr

So I have been blogging for some time now on Tumblr and its good for me to see inspiring images and as a visual resource, but I can't help but feel like its "Blogging Fluff". Is there one type that's best to use in these days where technology and or on-line footprint dictates everything??? Is there one standard or thing to strive for? I feel like everyone else in the "industry" or Creative Types uses Blogger or Wordpress- Must I conform? I am going to try to navigate both for a bit and see which one I like the best and figure out my Blogging Identity.
